The sage ethnic-motif kurta set

This is not a costume. Rashmika was photographed in this on the street — walking out past a small crowd of photographers in the middle of an ordinary working day — and it is not something she wears in a film.

It is also, unusually for this site, a look we can price exactly. The set is Janasya's ethnic-motif pleated A-line kurta with trousers, and Myntra is selling it at ₹1,899 against a ₹4,999 list. Not a lookalike. The actual set.

The kurta is pure cotton on a pale sage-cream ground, printed with an ogee lattice — rows of tall pointed arches drawn in a thin olive-green vine, each one holding a cluster of pink roses, with mustard-yellow diamond medallions outlined in slate blue filling the spaces between. It is a dense, small-repeat print, which is why it reads as a soft overall texture from across a courtyard and only breaks into flowers when the camera gets close. Sleeveless, a plain round neck cut high and wide, and the whole body pleated from a seam just under the bust so it falls calf-length in a full A-line. The detail that confirms it beyond doubt is a pair of pink tassel ties hanging at the left side seam, which you can see swinging in the walking shots.

The trousers are the same set. Mustard yellow, printed with a small tonal motif of their own, straight-legged and elasticated at the waist — they come in the same box as the kurta and are covered by the same ₹1,899, so there is nothing separate to buy. Myntra lists the package as one kurta and one bottom.

Two things are deliberately missing from the list below. Her sandals are pale and flat-looking, but she is mid-stride in every frame the footage gives us and they never resolve enough to name a colour, let alone a style — so they are not here. And there is no dupatta: none appears in any frame, and the listing's own dupatta attribute reads NA.

Below the set are two of our own picks from the high street, for anyone who wants the same idea for less. They are our choices, not Janasya's, and each card says exactly where it differs from what she is wearing. We looked hard for a closer one under ₹1,000 and there isn't one — nothing on the high street reproduces a cream ogee lattice in pink and yellow, which is precisely why the real set at ₹1,899 is the pick.
