A plain pale sand handloom in pure cotton, and the pale matte hand is the whole reason it is here. Most beige sarees on the high street are festive tissue: metallic in the body, a broad gold zari border, and far warmer than anything on camera. This one is the opposite — an oatmeal-sand field with a soft chalky finish and no shine, the same weight of drape as hers. Two differences: it runs a woven stripe band and a tasselled edge through the pallu where hers is plain to the end, and its border is a fine self-tone rather than the slightly deeper line at her hem.
