Put eight blue sarees beside the frozen frame and this is the only one whose blue does not drift — the same vivid cobalt, not navy and not violet, which matters more than any other single thing here, because the colour is what a reader recognises in a second. Plain silk ground with small gold zari butis scattered over it and a narrow bright pink border, which is the same move as the magenta line running down the edge of her pallu. Two honest differences. Her gold work is a row of dancing figures walking along three sweeping curved lines; these are small evenly spaced butis with no figures in them. And the pallu here finishes in a multicoloured Paithani peacock, where hers ends in purple and gold. It also arrives with its own unstitched blouse piece in the same art silk — which is why there is no separate blouse in this list. Her blouse is cobalt with a high band collar, elbow sleeves and small silver-white butis; cut from the blouse piece that comes in the box, you get the colour right by default.
