A ready-made round-neck blouse in the same aubergine-wine, and it is what brings the wine back into the look the saree leaves out. The differences: it is stretch cotton with a faint self-stripe where hers is plain silk, the sleeve is a little shorter than her elbow length, and there is no gold band at the cuff — a strip of the saree’s own zari border sewn round each sleeve gets you there.
