The Hand-Painted Raas Lehenga

This one is not a costume, and there is no film. It is what Isha Ambani wore to Swadesh's first-anniversary celebration in Mumbai on 10 October 2026, on the eve of Navratri.

And the outfit is not a mystery. It is Torani's Raas Kalamkari Anargha lehenga set, listed on Torani's own site under her name at ₹9,56,500, made to order with a 90-working-day timeline. The same listing offers a lighter version, with the same print and less embroidery, at ₹4,95,500. Those prices come from the brand's own product page, not from the clips going round.

What you are looking at. An ivory silk skirt hand-painted edge to edge with Kalamkari scenes of Krishna and the gopis: deep-blue figures, brick-red flowers and trees, green vines, a red scalloped band at the waist, and zari, sequins and mirrors worked over the painting. The blouse is a cap-sleeved V-neck in olive and antique gold, its panels painted with small blue-and-white Krishna miniatures and edged in rows of mirrors and multicoloured pom-pom tassels. Below it sits a long-line peplum with a band of tiny painted squares and another fringe of tassels at the waist.

Around it: an oxidised silver choker with a gold-toned collar and a long, dense fringe of silver bells; tiered silver jhumkas hooked to peacock ear cuffs; gold kadas on both wrists; and her hair half up, with white, orange and blue flowers pinned all the way down.

What she left off. The set includes a red organza odhni and she skipped it. She wears no dupatta in any frame. Her footwear never shows.
