The ecru button-placket knit and black wide-legs

This one is not a costume. Nayanthara was photographed walking into the airport with Vignesh Shivan at the end of August 2026, in what is very obviously a travel outfit rather than anything styled for a camera. She does not wear this in a film, and that is most of why it is worth a page — it is two garments, both of them plain, and it is the most copyable thing she has worn all year.

The top is an ecru knit — oat rather than white, warm enough that against the airport's grey light it reads closer to sand. It has a ribbed round neck band and a deep placket of five small tonal buttons running down from it, which is the whole design: a henley, in knitwear. The sleeves are raglan, with a band of rib running from the neck out to the underarm so the shoulder seam sits low and soft rather than square. Wide ribbed cuffs, a deep ribbed hem band, and a relaxed, slightly boxy body that stops at the high hip. Nothing is tucked. There is no logo, no contrast trim and no texture beyond a flat, fine gauge.

The trousers are black, high-waisted, pleated at the front and cut wide and straight all the way down. The fabric is fluid — it swings and it creases softly, so it is a crepe or a light twill, not denim and not a stiff formal suiting. They are long enough to graze the floor over a flat sandal, which is what gives the whole outfit its length.

On the brand: the clip this look was read from is a third-party "price check" video, and it cuts ZARA's own product page for the knit into the edit. That flat product shot does read as the same garment, detail for detail, and it is a strong lead. It is not a confirmation — ZARA blocks us from opening its catalogue to check the listing, and the figure that clip quotes is priced to the paisa, which no shop prices a jumper at. So we are naming ZARA as the likely label and nothing more. The prices below are our own high-street picks, checked today.

Two things are deliberately missing from the list. She is in flat tan toe-post sandals — that much is plain — but the straps never sharpen enough in any frame to say what they actually are, so we have not put a card under a guess. And the small dark oval sunglasses, the watch and the thin bracelet are all unnameable at this resolution. Guessing any of them would be the easiest way to get this page wrong.
